Learning how to care for your baby ahead of time often alleviates fears about dressing and diapering, feeding and burping and all the many task involved in caring for a baby.
We will cover:
- Sights and Sounds of a Newborn
- Sleep
- Diapering
- Dressing
- Bathing
- Holding
- Temp. taking
- Soothing a Fussy Baby and much more.
We will also talk about the many changes that occur for the whole family in the first weeks after a baby is born.
We will discuss:
- Realistic expectations
- Sleep deprivation
- Postpartum depression and more.
Breastfeeding Basics
Most new moms agree that learning the steps to successful breastfeeding ahead of time helped them handle the first few weeks more easily.
We will cover:
- How to prepare for breastfeeding
- Positions for breastfeeding and getting baby latched
- How to know if baby is getting enough
- Common problems and what to do about them
Though breastfeeding is normal and natural it is a learned skill for both mother and baby. Having the tools beforehand will help you feel more confident once you have your baby in your arms.
